Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
DataDash ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use our marketplace at datadash.co, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. By using DataDash you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Account information — When you sign up via Clerk we collect your name, email address, and profile image. If you sign in with Google or another provider, we receive the data permitted by that provider.
- Purchase history — When you buy a template we store a record of the transaction including the amount paid, date, and template purchased. Payment processing is handled by Polar; we do not store card details.
- Usage data — We collect anonymised analytics (pages visited, session duration, clicks) via PostHog to improve the product.
- Communications — If you contact us or subscribe to our newsletter we store the message and your email address.
2. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and manage your account.
- To process payments and fulfil purchases (download access).
- To send transactional emails — purchase receipts, new-template notifications if you opted in.
- To improve the marketplace through anonymised product analytics.
- To respond to support requests and enquiries.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Third-party services
DataDash relies on the following sub-processors:
- Clerk — authentication and identity management. Clerk stores credentials and issues session tokens on our behalf.
- Convex — our backend database. All application data (user records, templates, purchases) is stored in Convex.
- Polar — payment processing and merchant-of-record. Polar handles card data and issues receipts.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- PostHog — product analytics (anonymised, no personally identifiable data is sent).
- Algolia — search index (template titles, descriptions, categories — no personal data).
Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and data-processing agreements.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication sessions (managed by Clerk). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from signing in.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and purchase data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to fulfil legal or business obligations. Newsletter subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe. You may request deletion at any time.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@datadash.co. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children's privacy
DataDash is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
